Who Are We?
SimDemocracy is a unique online community founded as an experiment in democratic moderation. We aim to demonstrate to Reddit, Discord, and other social media platforms that communities can thrive when members have a genuine voice in governance.
We've evolved into a comprehensive democracy simulation featuring a president who leads the executive branch with department secretaries, a senate that creates and passes laws, and a judiciary that resolves disputes and upholds justice within our community.

The Government of r/SimDemocracy operates through three main branches, each with distinct responsibilities:
- Executive Branch: Led by the President with Secretaries serving as department heads
- Legislative Branch: The Senate, composed of Senators who create and pass laws
- Judicial Branch: Consists of Inferior Court Judges, Court of Review Judges, and Supreme Court Justices
Beyond the three branches, we have independent oversight positions including the Election Commissioner and Supervisors who ensure accountability across all government organs.
SimDem features its own thriving economy complete with businesses and our official currency, Tau.
